Hello all, I am new here. When I got engaged, I didn't think I wanted an engagement ring. But. . . I may have changed my mind. :twirl:

Net/net we are celebrating a big anniversary and I am thinking about finally getting an engagement ring. . .

I have a lot of friends who have upgraded their diamonds over the years so I want to get a diamond that is big enough that I don't want to upgrade in a few years but not so big that I feel like it I may get negative attention from it.

I am looking at two settings-- the Tacori 2520RD and the 2628RD. Both stones have a halo so I am wondering if someone can help me understand how big those rings really are on a hand with the halo. I can't find good pictures online that indicate size. I did try both on in the store with a 1ct stone and I was thinking that I wanted it a little bigger.

I would appreciate the advice! This is a big purchase!

I'm assuming you want the mm measurements across your hand of the actual ring? We can't really answer that as the rings will be CAST to meet the mm requirements of your diamond.

You can just contact Tacroi and ask them what is the width of the halo on these 2 models and if that measuement will change pending on the center stone size.

Thanks for the response-- that's a great idea. I will certainly do that. I would also like to hear what people prefer for those types of rings. I think there are a lot of folks with great style on this board!

There is a popular wedding forum where a lot of the brides have tacori rimgs and post hand shots. If you go there and search/ask for hand shots, you may find the examples you 're looking for. But don't forget the halos can look different depending on your ring size. The same halo can look small on a size 9 and massive on a size 4.

I think 2628 is gorgeous, but I think side diamonds would be preferable to sapphires on that particular ring and so as not to tire of it. I like 2620 much better than 2520, though. 2520 does look like it has a wider halo wheread 2620 and 2628 have subtle halos. I'd definitely go for 1.25 or 1.5 if those are in budget, because those kinds of halos don't add a whole lot of extra finger coverage.

I was thinking about getting the 2628 with diamond side stones as well. I think the saphire is pretty but it would tire after a while!
