I am pretty set on this setting:
http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/pave/platinum-pave-infinity-diamond-engagement-ring-item-9329

Now i just need to find a center diamond that will work well with this setting.

I am looking to spend (on the diamond) 3-3.5K (USD)

I have been reading through a ton of articles about the "C's" and what not but there are so many options it is very overwhelming.
I am not sure what %'s for spread and such would work well for this setting.

Any help with a push in the right direction would be great!

Thanks!

Also side note: Who is the best to go wit to insure your ring purchased online. There are a ton of options.

Thanks in advance everyone!

You should probably mention the shape you are looking into, princess, round, emerald, etc. It makes a difference and I'm sure someone will ask so that they can give you the best advice.

I am looking for a round diamond. Thanks. :wavey:

To The Top

I am leaning toward the 2nd link.

Anyone? Buller? BulleR?

First one is a no. Second one is nice. Get an idealscope image from JA.

Requested the Ideal scope.
They say however it takes 3-5 days.
The hold time for JA is 48 hours.
What recommendations would you give? What if i lose the diamond?
Gypsy - Do you have any in similar price range that you would buy w.o a ideal scope? Preferably JA so I can have them set the stone in the setting before shipment.
Thanks!!

If you ask for an idealscope image, James Allen will place the diamond on hold until the inspection is done and then for 24 hours afterwards. So there's no chance of you losing the diamond while the inspection is underway.

If you lose it then you can keep looking. It looks great on paper, assuming it's eyeclean. If it's on hold, and you're working with a customer service agent, surely they can keep it on hold til the scope images come in.

I did not know this. Makes me feel better. Thanks!

It is eyeclean, I asked the agent already. I will await the image results and post them.

Thanks everyone!

I think the idealscope will be in today.
One other question.
Would the diamond be overwhelmed by this setting if I went with this instead of the first one i posted?

Thanks!
There are links at the bottom of the photo to see 'real' photos of that ring. The one they show is a .9, but won't be too far off what you're looking for. You can see if it overwhelms the diamond. Personally I think it looks fine. They look much more delicate when made than the 'stock' photo for JA shows.

Got the Idealscope and summary of the Diamond:
"You'll be happy to know that the gemologist has had the opportunity to look at diamond XXXXXX and has been able to provide us with his insight on it! He found diamond XXXXXX to be a true "F" coloration. While most of us will not pick up on it, to a trained eye the diamond may even appear closer to an "E" color. This diamond is fantastic option that offers you exceptional brilliance throughout and eye clean appearance."
