The G diamond is about $4,000 cheaper.

From what I have read we shouldn't notice the fluorescence at these color levels. Is that correct?

I appreciate the help in advance.....

Do you have images of the diamonds? Do you have aset images?

You really can't judge cushions based on the GIA specs alone. Study the cushion threads on this forum to understand what type of cushion that appeals to you or your sig other. There's a wide variety and each has its own personality.

That said, here's an amazing 2 carat, 8 cushion main I stumbled across yesterday. Just a suggestion since this facet pattern is highly coveted and hard to find. I'd jump on it personally by placing it on hold and requesting an ASET.

If you're able to narrow down your choice or preferences, let us know and we'll be happy to help.

That diamond does look amazing. I tried to see if they could send me some non-magnified photos and videos but they didnt have any. They also couldn't put a hold while I make up my mind. I will have to do a ton of research tonight.

Mind if I ask what makes this pattern so special?

Based on my understanding, the 8-main faceting is highly sought after since it closely replicates the faceting of the Tiffany Novo diamond, presenting a nice even spread without the pronounced "X" in the middle or any crushed ice effect. These diamonds are difficult to find these days due to the way cushions are being cut to save carat weight (and leading to the majority of the ugly cushion modified brilliant faceted stones you see out there today).

If you do a close search on this forum, you'll see that many cushion hunters try hard to find this particular faceting but their options are limited. The choice of facet pattern is entirely personal and there are different types such as the antique large faceted cushions (AVC, BE Royal Chandelier), Hearts & Arrows (BG Signature, Brellia), and your generic 4 main / 8 main facet patterns. These are in addition to the many "crushed ice" looking stones you see out there today. Many people on here love the AVC look - I personally love the 8 main faceting on the link I showed you and would not be surprised if some lurker snapped that stone up soon, especially someone looking to replicate the Tiffany Novo.

Keep in mind that not all 8 mains are created equal and there are many ugly ones out there. (I know, I searched for them during my own hunt.) The one you're looking at is not a perfect, stop-sign shaped hexagon table but it is still extremely nice and I wouldn't hesitate to put it on a ring. Try to get an ASET if possible and review / confirm the return policy with the vendor carefully. Since they are newer to Pricescope, there's not much personal feedback on them yet.

Lastly, here's a link below to a Pricescope thread for someone who ended up with an amazing 8 main cushion diamond. Hope this helps and best of luck!
