I am so glad I found this website, I hope that someone on this forum might be able to offer some advice. I am engaged to be married, and my engagement ring, which I love, is a princess-cut diamond in the platinum contour setting by Blue Nile. It is plain, simple, and comfortable, and I think my fiancé did a great job.

We are starting to look for wedding bands, and I need some advice as to what would look good with my e-ring. I don’t really care for the band that is designed to go with it by Blue Nile. This is the only band that you can preview on the site alongside the e-ring. I don’t like the way they look together. Am I nuts? I think that it would look better if the stones were princess cut, and it almost seems like too many diamonds, like it draws attention away from my solitaire.

Blue Nile also lists a plain 2.5mm comfort band as another option. I can’t preview it on the site, but I did try some on in jewelry stores. When tried on with the ring, it looks like a plain band needs a little something.

I also tried on a channel-set wedding band, and it didn’t seem to match properly. Especially with the squared-off style of the shank, which didn’t seem to match my e-ring, because the shank is very rounded (high dome?). I apologize, I don’t know the appropriate jewelry terminology.

Anyway, my question is this:

Do you have any recommendations as what specific style/design/width of wedding band would look good, in your opinion, with my engagement ring?

Thank you in advance for any guidance.

Hi and Welcome to PS

Your e-ring is very lovely and classic. I would think there are many different style's that would work and you just need to find the one you love. I would probably go with a 2mm full eternity, where the diamonds are smaller but give your wedding set a little extra sparkle. something like this

I love the Tiffany Lucida channel set half eternity band - I own it. It''s beautiful!

Here''s how it looked with my original ering

how about this one from blue nile? I like the idea of more diamonds in the w band too, but it is 100% personal preference.

I have that exact setting only with a round in it. I wear it with a 1.07cwt shared prong eternity band from Signed Pieces. The two sit totally flush. I get compliments on it all the time. I think the width of the e-ring setting is 4mm and the eternity band is 2.7mm. I will say though that the diamonds from the eternity band have totally scratched up the e-ring setting. Not big gouges, but a lot of little tiny scratches. HTH!

Thank you to everyone for your responses. Very helpful advice! I will investigate all the options.

I was worried that a prong set eternity band would not be thick enough to look right with my setting (which is not just wide, but thick)... but thank you Pebbles, for the picture... it looks great!
