Would appreciate some help from anyone that knows anything about diamonds.

I'm trying to decide between these 3 stones:

There is only about £150 (~250 dollars) between them. I'm assured that all 3 are clean to the eye.
Any suggestions based on the certificate and flaws which is the preference? I was informed that the faint florenscent one does not add any cloudiness to the stone.

Thanks for any fast replies in advance!!

None of them are great. Use this tool to help you weed out likely poor performers...https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca

If a stone scores under 2 it is worth looking into further. Any scores under 2 should be treated the same, meaning that 0.8 is not better than 1.9. I have not calculated a score for the stones that you posted, but none will be under 2.

I did look at the HCA. How important would you say the tool is?
Especially when looking at the GIA rating too?

if you had to choose??

I would say the tool is very useful for beginners. As you begin to learn more and more, you can make a pretty good guess at how a diamond will score by looking at the numbers on the report. The HCA is used to help you stay away from stones that have angles that don't work well together. If buying in person, you are best served by using your eyes to choose. When buying sight unseen, however, the HCA helps you pick out stones that are likely to perform well. You should try to confirm performance by obtaining reflector images of diamonds like idealscope and ASET. Whenever possible, try to get images and as much info to help make a more informed decision. If I HAD to choose from those three I would take #3, but I would definitely keep looking if it was me.

Hi,

thanks for your quick replies!
I note that the 1.21 carat has a HCA 3.6 sitting in the worth buying if the price is right category. I know it's not <2 but hopefully it will have a good deal of sparkle and fire. Can I assume a H colour vs G color wont make too much difference? From the GIA chart its got a few small flaws on the table, which is why I was not preferencing it. Any idea if those flaws are likely to impact the diamond through the eye? Running out of time to find a diamond!
It's just over £7000 with a platinum setting which seems ok for a stone of this size and rating compared to other sources... I'm sure the UK is also priced above other markets such as the US too...

Hello,

Running out of time to get this ring. Last minute help from anyone would be appreciated.

Some alternatives I've been looking at:

http://www.gia.edu/
GIA CERTS:
1. 7198511212 (HCA <2) -- recommended by the salesman.
http://5g.diamondbyhk.com/hkweb/ZoomXray.jsp?url=http://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/hkfauna/viewer.html?d=141166-69%26sm=1%26sd=50%26sv=0,1,2,3,4%26z=1%26v=2%26i=http://5g.diamondbyhk.com/hkweb/searchAction.do?method=videoDetails&videomstkidn=1499600051&errorImg=video1&video=Y&videoLoc=SR&videoTyp=HTML&videoId=141166-69

2. 2196463151 (HCA <2)
3. 2186191702 (HCA <2)
4. 2196420860 (HCA 2.6)

---other vendor:
5. 6192373038 (HCA 5.4)
6. 1199034181 (HCA 2.4)
7. 7191550552 (HCA 2.7)

Don't want to push the work on someone else but this is starting to make my head spin and it would be lovely to have an more expert opinion especially as Im confused about the importance of various inclusions.

thank you in advance!! hoping to buy overnight or tomorrow morning.

8. and finally 2196421716 (HCA <2).

too many choices??

Lots of choices, but so hard to tell for sure which will be best without more information. Have you see 60/60 stones versus ideal cut in person? Would you rather have a little spreadier (less firey), bright diamond or a little less diameter but more of a balance between brightness and fire?

Hello!

Probably more balance with fire and sparkle.
I note that a few of them including some of the low HCA stones have crystals on the table. Is this likely to result in a black spot when viewing the stone.
Thoughts??
Ahhh, panic!

I'd lean towards #2 then. No way to know about the clarity without asking the vendor. The clarity plot just tells you where it is, doesn't tell you anything about color of the the inclusion.
