Choosing a princess cut diamond

Hi,

I have been reading this site for a couple weeks and I feel like I have learning just enough to be dangerous, but I'm still not too confident in my ability to choose a diamond.

I am looking to upgrade my engagement ring. The setting I have fallen in love with is tension set in palladium or platinum with a brushed finish. Very modern.

I am looking at princess cut diamonds, in the 1.5 carat range.

I have looked online and in stores. I know plenty of people on this site have purchased diamonds online and had great experiences, but I don't know anyone who has in real life. Their skepticism is making me a bit skeptical as well.

This is one diamond that has piqued my interest:

Any thoughts? If it looks promising, what additional questions should I ask about it? Or, any other suggestions for another diamond of comparable quality (probably no "worse" than I, SI1)? My budget is $10k for the stone.

I really appreciate your opinions! Thank you!

Any feedback or suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

You can't really say much about a princess without an ASET image, which James Allen will take for you on up to 3 stones. It isn't very square, I don't know if you were going for that or not, and personally, I like a little smaller table. But again, you need to see the ASET.

GIA does not grade the cut quality of princesses.
AGS does.
I'd at least get one that is an AGS 0, their top cut grade.

If you want to take it to the next level get a branded Princess cut.
I am aware of these brands:

Crafted by Infinity
Solasfera
Whiteflash ACA
If Good Old Old offers a branded princess cut (like their branded AVCs) I'm not aware of it but that's another great vendor who specializes in fine cut.
