Has anyone had chocolate wine (chocovino, etc.)? Do you like it? I really do. Which ones do you recommend or not?

Tx.

I've tried a number of them, but can't remember the names...although, I really liked the Chocolate Shop's from World Market/Cost Plus ---it's the hot pink label. :) Deelish!

mm you're speaking my language now!! I didn't care for chocovine, it's too winey for me...but i liked how now brown cow and there's two others from local wineries, that aren't mixed with milk stuff - one is from from Mattaponi winery here in VA, called Pow-Wow it's a chocolate strawberry wine http://www.mattaponiwinery.com/Wine_Selection.html the other is from another local winery, HOrton - it's called Blanco XOCO, and it's a white chocolate wine (they also have a red chocolate wine called Rojo XOCO) http://hortonwine.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=43&Itemid=74

Not sure where you are, but if you have access or can get access to either of those they're my favorite chocolate wines by far!

I got a little tiny size bottle once last year and ended up throwing it out after a couple of sips....but I rarely drink anything alcoholic so maybe that's why I didn't like it.

Hubs (who DOES drink wine) was completely offended by it.

I love chocolate and I love wine but to me chocolate-flavored wine sounds as appealing as garlic ice cream. :knockout:

You might consider trying it. I think you are missing something good. The one I had was not a big chocolate flavor, just enough to create intrigue . . .

Since you recommend it I'll keep my eyes peeled to try a glass if I see it at a restaurant, bar, friend's home. :cheeky:
I'm a tightwad so I don't think I'd buy a whole bottle till I'm sure I'd like it.

I do like Kalua, and Bailey's Irish Cream, which have flavors borrowed from other yummie stuff.

My hesitancy is from how the brain categorizes stuff.
To my primitive mind wine is about grapes not strawberries, or apricots of chocolate, and ice cream is not about garlic or onions.
And of course a true wine-person would run away screaming.
That ain't me since I live on Two-Buck-Chuck.

But I'd like to open my mind and let go of categories.
A mind can be so annoying. :angryfire:

Cool. Do update if you have any. The one I had, Chocolate Rouge, is not big chocolate; just enough to smooth it out and make you think hmmm . . . what is that flavor? - in a good way.

I've heard that garlic icecream is actually really good. Supposedly like a good Alfredo sauce...

I haven't tried the chocolate wine yet. Might have to. Love chocolate. Love wine.

I haven't tried garlic ice cream. I would try it, why not?
I have had chocolate wine. I believe it was Chocovino. I liked it. Visually, it makes me think of a grown up YooHoo.

I haven't had any. But I would sure like a glass right now!!!!!! Looking forward to the recommendations.

I had some chocolate red wine. It was actually better than I expected. I wouldn't drink a bottle of it but it wasn't bad.

The wine store near me was giving away samples of chocolate red wine last holiday season. It was good, but I didn't buy any because I wouldn't want a whole bottle of it. If I see it again this year, maybe I'll get a bottle and bring it to the family holiday festivities.
