I know some of you have preferred measurements even within the top rated stones. Is there anything that stands out as a red flag on the larger stone? It looks great on the HCA, but I don’t have any photos of it.

Would I notice the difference in size?

It only has a crystal marked on the plot and is said to be eyeclean.

Comments? Thanks in advance...

The #''s don''t send up any red flags IMO. Looks nice, can they get you some pictures? I just did a half mm upgrade and I can tell a difference. I went from 1.59ct to 1.82 (7.44 X 7.51mm to 7.92 X 7.94mm) and it''s not a SHOCKING size increase but I''ve decided that a half mm is noticable. Even my husband who is VERY unobservant in the jewlery department said "IT LOOKS BIGGER!".

I think

Looks good Cin, plus you would be gaining almost half a mm which is significant!

I''d have to bring it in to get some photos and their opinion further once they see it - and then pay the return shipping if I don''t go with it. I think the added money is not signicant (~$500 total with the slight price diff, mount, new head, etc), but my husband may think so. I''ve not crossed that bridge yet... Do you think the size difference would be worth this amount since the #s seem good?

I''ve got my eye on it!

I think you will absolutely notice the different in size just in terms of how much more presence it seems to have on your finger.

Looks great by the numbers; I''d probably want to get an image or two as well being a GIA stone.

Believe it or not, 0.5 mm is significant to the eye (at least mine).

Sounds like an affordable way to get a significant size increasee! I think it''s worth bringing in. Is it through WF? I just ask because I did mine through them and if they pull it in and it checks out but you DON''T buy it then you pay the return---but that''s only like $60 or so I think. I think it''s a nice upgrade.

Yes, that is exactly what I''m thinking of doing. WF would bring it in and then if I don''t go with it, I pay the return shipping.

Looks great! I will be very curious to see whether you think the size increase is really noticeable... Actually, now that I think of it, didn''t Katiedid do a similar increase in size early in her ring process... from a .75 to a little over a carat, and she thought that was significant... I''m gonna look see... back soon.

Found it! Katiedid went from a .80 to a 1.01, and here is the side-by-side comparison! (hope she doesn't mind!). This makes me think I will go to 1ct next from my .81 (that I don't even have yet! hahah)

Thanks for this photo! I''m going to reread her threads.

Great pic showing the difference, DD! See, this WILL CERTAINLY be a noticable size increase!

If the stone comes in and WF doesn''t recommend it, they won''t charge you. So the only way you pay is if it''s a WINNER and you decide against it. I think the risk is minimal.

I didn''t know about that recommendation/charging part. Thanks for that info. I was worried that it would come in and they would say they didn''t like it and then I''d be stuck paying the shipping. Lesley has said that according to the measurements, it would certainly qualify for their expert selection, which means it would still be upgradeable down the line. However, she can''t comment on the warmth of the stone until they actually see it. Since it says faint flour, will this help it to look whiter? Also, since it has a fairly small table, I''m thinking that might also make it look whiter. I am loving the idea of this stone, I just have to find out what the new head price is....AND, speak to the hubby. He knows I''ve been doing a lot of PS lately, so I kinda figure he thinks I''m up to something!

Would this be reasonable to assume:

Since it says faint flour, will this help it to look whiter?

Also, since it has a fairly small table, I''m thinking that might also make it look whiter.

What do you think?

Hi Cinn, You will notice the difference :) IT WILL BE VERY NOTICABLE !!! I love my 1.07 but can''t wait for it to be a 1.57....I know I will see a huge difference!!! What have you decided? I think it is worth $60.00 to bring it in. Does Whiteflash let you upgrade a stone that is not listed in there Expert Selection?

P.S. I love love love my J.....

If they deem it worthy of their expert selection line after they bring it in and recommend it to you as such, then it will be considered upgradeable. According to Lesley, this one would qualify.

I still have to pass the hubby first before I bring it in.

I would love to see more photos of your ring and I can''t wait to see dreamer-daichsie''s (oops think I spelled that wrong)

Cinnamon, I can't wait to see mine either! Apparently they will ship it on Tuesday April 1. I am not sure how I will wait I am about the explode with excitement.

I hope you bring in this stone you are considering, it would be great for you to finally get something you love wholeheartedly... BTW, I have been in the same position as you for a few years of not finding that I really love my ring. Right now I am thinking it is because I have ECs and I want the sparkle, so I am hoping that I will love my new RB... but sometimes I just worry that I am impossible to please and will never be happy. Do you ever feel that way, or do you feel certain you will love it once it is inclusion-free? Just wondering if I am not the only one who worries about not ever being totally satisfied with their ring...

I do love my stone. The cloud I was bummed about is not noticeable now that I''ve given my ring a good cleaning. Do I ever think I''ll be happy? I think for one reason or another, I may always want to upgrade a bit. Right now, I''m going for a size increase and once that happens, I''ll just concentrate on a wedding band or something instead of changing my stone. Concerning the upgrade, I want to make sure the inclusions are eye clean so I don''t see them when I am staring at my ring...which is often! I don''t have to upgrade...it''s just an itchy desire...
