Just got off the phone with my brother. His new company was supposed to move into this building on March 1st.

This is crazy.
 
A friend of mine who recently moved from Austin to SoCal was on a concall with the austin branch of his company when it happened.

Just crazy.

When I read the post I immediately thought it may have been a building in the Capitol complex... DH works there! I''m so thankful its not but this is terrible and has to be so traumatic for the employees in that building!

I''m so proud of DH and his job but its days like these (and a couple of weeks ago when they had the shooting at the Capitol!)that make me wish he worked somewhere boring and low profile.

I''m in Katy and have been watching the news. Such a sad story about the lengths this guy went to.....TERRIBLE!

I''m pretty sure the guy did it to get attention for a cause.

I normally am all for free speech but in cases like these I believe the media should not report anything about the message this guy died, and likely killed, to spread.

He was mad at the IRS. It was their office.
 
Apparently he was PO''d at the IRS. Has a website where he said "violence is the only answer". He set his own house on fire before stealing a plane and crashing it into the building. A neighbor said he saw a woman and a teenage girl (presumably his wife/daughter?) crying outside of the house, screaming "that''s my house!"

I''m with you. I''m working about 7 miles from where it happened and had no clue until lunch time. I''ve watched some of the news and read a few stories and it''s a crazy story but things where I''m at are business as usual. No chaos thank goodness.
 
The first news reports said the plane wasn''t stolen and they didn''t think the crash was intentional. They said one person wasn''t accounted for in the building and two people had been taken to the hospital.

Amazing how things can change in a matter of minutes. Did the pilot pass away? I haven''t heard them say anything about it.

I actually work in a building across the street and we saw the wreckage from the window. A few co-workers actually saw the plane hit the building. It looked really bad this morning and we were fearing that many would be injured or killed. Amazingly and thankfully, only two people were injured. The pilot died (as was his intent). The last I heard, there was only one person missing.
 
I still can''t get over the fact that if this guy had waited just one more week, that my brother would have been in that building.

Hopefully the person that can''t be accounted for, is safe. I would hate if this idiot took innocent people with him.
