a 6 prong Tiffany style knife-edge setting in 18k white gold or platinum? Chris at Gem Appraisers suggested I could save some money by buying the setting online and have it set at a place near me.

Thanks for the link JulieN! Does anyone know if a knife edge setting can be done with a 6 prong buttercup head rather than a tulip style head? I don''t want the ring to be set too high.

American Set on ebay has a replica for under $200 in white gold & $600 for platinum. Seems like I saw that a PSer bought from them and was pleased but I''m not sure. They would definitely be the cheapest!

I just bought a setting from them and had my diamond set in it today (not the Tiffany but a trellis setting) and loooooooooooooooove it!!

I wish I had thought of that! My 6 prong 18K gold setting was $390 from UD. I think WF is around $250. (I went with UD because of the longer return policy.) If I had gone to ebay, I could have gotten it for under $200. Good luck on finding a setting!

I have the American Set tiffany replica for a "fun" ring. I can''t see a dang thing wrong with it- it looks way more expensive than it is! I''ve always thought it''s a great deall for the price. And it actually looks pretty close to the Tiffany one too.

It''s 14K white gold.
