p.s.- I've seen similar settings, but I would like to have this exact one...it's so nice and flat! LOVE IT! Help!

Note, you're prong will be different, and may require that this setting have those corner protectors on them for the princess cut, depending on size I suppose....it's nice, and shouldn't be too much if you can figure out who other than Ice carries a similar setting...

Yes! I want V prongs instead of the split double prongs...I guess it would just require a different head....I haven't seen any like it online. I like the shank nice and flat....the others I've seen are rounded!!! Maybe I'll just go to a local flea-bag and ask for a jeweler to do it...and I'll have my own guy set it....Thanks!

This one looks rather 'rough' as is but the idea is there: tappering elements, the basket head, and tollerance for a series of sizes and shapes of center (square) stones. The Icestore setting was shown with a 3cts stone - these images are most likely taken with much smaller centers. There is no note on the actual size of the setting and adjustments can be made easier thana new setting. The price looks rather attractive too. (WWW)

I would like to comment on the title.
While I cant see paying the "name" prices for a lot of settings cheaper isnt nessasary a good thing when it comes to settings.
There are a lot of shortcuts that can reduce the cost of the setting that will have a large impact on the looks and duribility of the finished settings.
Some are:
Alloy used
Hollow areas
proper contruction and design - too thin of matural used ect.
polish
............
Polish can really take a hit when going for cheap it has to be done by hand for the most part and hand work is expensive.
Then again iv seen some high $$ name peices that had bad polish jobs on them.
It pays to pay attention to detail when comparing settings or having one made.

Polish is an area like diamond cut that we need to put pressure on the producers to make improvements across the industry.

Oh honey- I change my stone like I change my socks...LOL....when I say cheap- I mean cheap!!! Why pay a lot for something that has got a shelf life with me of about 1 1-2 years! So I can just get 20 bucks scrap value?

Silver looks darn close to platinum after a wash (this is true).
