Hi,

I have just gotten an e-ring for my gf (now fiancee) from James Allen. Fedex sent me the parcel on Monday and today I just received a bill from Fedex.

The bill includes 5% GST and a Duty Advancement Fee... Anyone knows what is this all about?

Would appreciate if anyone from Singapore has the same experience can advise...

Anyway I found the answer by emailing FedEx direct:

Duty advancement fee is charged by FedEx for handling and advancing
customs
clearance on behalf of consignee. It is based on 5% from duty tax
charges, minimum SGD10/= and maximum SGD100/=
