Chapter 3: The Setting and Getting the diamond mounted *PICS*
For those followring my story or those that have just jumped on board my previous posts can be found in these threads:
Arrival of the Diamond: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/wohooo-got-my-her-h-a-round-from-good-old-gold-pics.83150/
Color calamity: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/arrrggghh-color-came-back-lower-on-dc3000-colorimeter-than-graded-as-on-ags-cert.83472/
As I near the final chapter I find myself getting more anxious as my ''proposal date'' nears. I really hate keeping this ring locked up too as I know she''ll be just as excited as I am about it, and probably 100x more excited once she sees it. I find myself going to my ''hidey-hole'' on a regular basis just to look at the ring. My pride swells with each sparkle.
I am fortunate enough to live close to one of the finest jewelery stores in the south east with an awesome selection of just about anything you could want. Now with a diamond in hand, I was itching to get over to their store as I had spotted a setting during an earlier visit. First thing this past Friday morning I headed over to store, found the setting I wanted, and gave others some close consideration before finally nailing my decision down. I handed my diamond over at this point for the work to be done. Unfortunately my story goes a little sour at this point as the diamond was placed on a DC3000 colorimeter and graded a ''K''. A bit disappointing as the stone was graded a ''J'' by AGS. I understand that both machines and humans are fallible, however that stung a little. All was not lost as I love the stone so I decided to proceed with the mounting.
A few hours later I returned to pick up my now complete gorgeous ring. I was shocked at how beautiful the ring turned out. The pictures in no way do this ring justice as I find it stunning. Again, my mother was the first to see the ring and her excitement/shock/approval nearly brought me to tears.
I could have in no way done this without you all. Thanks again for everyone''s help. And look forward to the final ''proposal'' chapter. I''m still ironing that one out and I hope to have pictures for that as well.
Well here she is, let me know what you think:
