Channel Setting

The good news is that I got my diamond! I got it from Wink and he was absolutely fabulous. When I get a little more time I will post the story and some pictures.

I have a few questions regarding the channel set diamonds.
1.) The center diamond is a 1ct RB so should the side diamond be round as well?
2.) If they are round how close should they be to each other? If my understanding is correct they should appear to be touching, but not actually be touching?
3.) Any other pieces of advice to look for?

Why not get a setting and band from WF? That way WF would set the stone and you''d be done.

I don''t know her ring size so I want to go local so I can get a quick re-sizeing and not deal with the shipping hassles.

The side diamonds in the channel do not have to be round just because your center stone is round - it''s all about what looks best to you. I have a 1.33 ct round center but the stones in the channel are alternating princesses and baguettes. The nice thing about princesses and/or baguettes in the channel is that due to their straight sides you don''t see any space between them as you do with round stones in the channel (see link below for an example of a round with princess sides in the channel). But again, it''s more about what looks right to you - I think some folks want their side stones to be round to match their center stone.

I agree it is all about personal preference. I picked PC stones so my RB solitaire would stand out. I quickly found I wanted my smaller diamonds to be RB and changed me wrings out because of it.

Does she have any rings you could sneak out to a jeweler and find out what size she wears?
