Hello,

I've created a new thread to simplify things and get feedback on your thoughts about changing the metal post on earrings. The screwbacks are hurting my wife's ears because they are thick and a local jeweler said they can take out screwback metam and solder pushback metal for $20. Is that a good thing to do? Would it make the earring metal not as sturdy?

Hi @Junc80 I think that should be fine. I had several pairs of earrings converted from clip-ones to studs when I go my ears pierced 8 years ago. The posts were soldered in to the earrings.
All the earrings are fine, with no special care. I take them off to sleep, however.

I had that done 16 years ago. Still wearing them! I hate screwback, they were making me crazy. So I say it's just fine.

Thank you for your feedbacks! I guess it's a go!
