My husband wanted to buy this for me... until he saw the price! $5k!!! Can we do better? I’d settle for something similar- and obviously shorter- for about $300 USD. I suppose I could always look for that style in sterling silver, too.

Anyways my husband rarely spies jewelry that grabs husband attention so I want to capitalize on his interest and find an affordable option . If anyone has any ideas, I’d greatly appreciate it.

(Also sorry this post is not about diamonds but I know RT gets far more eyes than other forums... so I hope that’s ok!)

Well... the gold weight alone will prevent you from finding a similar solid gold (or even a hollow) chain at only about $300. You may have to settle for the look, with a gold plated chain?

Ruby Lane is a great place to find antique/vintage pieces; I’d start there.

Hmmm you’re so right. Maybe I will have to go for silver. I can live with that. Too bad :P

Of even gold-filled options, like the below. They'll literally last your lifetime with occasional fashion wear.

This 9K vintage chain is 31” and cost roughly $300.

If you’re okay with 9K, you might be able to find something at auction within your budget.

Thanks guys! These are all fantastic options. But it made me realize that what I really loved was the style and the length. So I'm going to try and find something unique in sterling around 60". If you spy anything please let me know! And thanks for taking a browse. I'm going to save up for the gold one, for one day :)

Ooooo that would fit the bill!!! I'm guessing it is sold. That's ok :) Great example!

I got it from an auction at Fellows.

I also found this in a separate auction for $600. 18K, about 18 grams:

Anyway, my point is that you can find decent deals at auctions.

Great idea. Thank you!! Auctions online or in person?
