I just got an email from my venue about the chair covers I had asked her about. She does have white chair covers available, but they don''t have ribbons or sashes available. Does this seem odd to anyone else? I am having a hard time visualizing if it will look incomplete (although I''m sure it will look more complete than if we didn''t have chair covers at all).

Also, we were planning to use white linens, napkins, and chair covers. Both the flowers and their containers will be pink. She suggested we use pink napkins so the room isn''t all white, but I am worried it will be too much pink. What do you think? She sent me a pic of the tables set up w/ the pink napkins, and they are very...pink. But then again, so are the containers.

Any opinions, thoughts or suggestions on either dilemma would be much appreciated! I''m not the room decorating "type" so I''m having a hard time.

If the flowers are pale pink, then I think pale pink napkins would be very pretty. I think bold pink would be too much, personally. The venues I''ve looked at did not provide chair sashes. You''d have to provide that yourself. But all white with just the flowers can be beautiful, too.

At my venue chair covers were included but sashes were extra, or you could provide sashes from a private company. I would try to bring in some color, but agree that if the pink is too dark it might be overpowering. I would suggest having one napkin under the centerpiece, but you said the containers were pink as well, so that would be pink on pink on pink. Is there another color you could bring in to break up the white?

hmmm.

Personally, I would definitely try to bring in some color somewhere. White chair covers with no sashes and white linens covering the table could just look too much like somebody went through and covered everything with white sheets to keep it from getting dusty... does that make sense?
I would see if you could bring in your own sashes for the chairs, and if that''s not a possibility then bring some color or texture to the napkins.

Or, if you are going with all white, is there a white with some kind of textured material you can choose?

I see what you mean about the all white looking like someone covered everything with a sheet...that is my concern about the chair covers. I''ve made the mistake of saving this until the last minute (my wedding is in 2 weeks!)

We are using the linens provided by the venue so there isn''t any textured white available. The problem is, our colors are teal and pink...I really couldn''t see any of the other colors she had available working except for the white and pink (especially with the pink containers for the flowers--which are a similar shade to the napkins so it might work...just worried that it will look like a little girl''s birthday party, if you know what I mean). Here is what she has available:

White or ivory tablecloth

Toppers: Black, chocolate brown, navy blue, burgundy, royal blue, red, forest green

Napkins: White, ivory, pink, red, orange, gold, lime green, sage, royal blue, burgundy, black.

And of course, the white chair covers.

I''m planning all this from 2 hours away, but I''m hoping to go home this weekend to look at the pink napkins vs. the white, and see the chair covers. If I did rent chair ties from an outside company, would you recommend pink for those, and then leaving the napkins white? I just looked at our closest rental center, and they don''t have chair ties, but I''ll do some more research. Living in a small town makes all of this harder!!

I don''t care that much about chair sashes or bows. I''d probably do the pale pink napkins. I love teal and pink, by the way!

Aww, thank you! We chose the teal because of how flattering it is--it looks fantastic on every one of my six bridesmaids!

Thank you for the help on the chair covers everyone. I haven''t been able to find just sashes anywhere locally yet, so hopefully when I go look at them the pink napkins will bring in just enough color (but not too much). I just hope the chair covers won''t look too "incomplete" without bows but we''ll see.

What about finding a wide pink ribbon from a fabric store, buying a bunch of spools and using that?
