Ceylon Sapphire Searching

So I've finally narrowed down my search for a sapphire to the following criteria:
1. Emerald or elongated cushion cut
2. At least 6mm in width
3. Ceylon sapphire - light blue
4. Trying to keep it around 5k

I found this one and, although I'm not really a purple kind of lady, I honestly really like it. That said, I think I would still prefer one that is more blue than purple.

Everybody on here seems to be amazing with finding gems that I haven't and knowing things I don't. Which leads me to my two questions:
1. It seems like that Ceylon I linked above is underpriced, is that the case or am I missing something?
2. Have you spotted any Ceylons that fit the bill?

It could be your computer monitor or mine that makes us see the color differently, but the 5.15 ct sapphire you linked does not look purple to it at all. It may be slightly violetish blue, but the primary color is still blue, and the word purple would not cross my mind when viewing this gem.

What is working against you a little bit is your preference for a light blue. The one you linked is medium in saturation, and a lot of vendors don't carry large light blue sapphires, because the "trade ideal" tends toward a darker color, so many lighter colored sapphires are heated to achieve a deeper color. And the unheated blue Ceylon sapphires, well, a lot of them have the violetish hue that you don't seem to like much.

The sapphire you linked is priced appropriately, I think. It is heated, and cut more deeply, as tends to be the case with Ceylon sapphires; a larger belly has a tendency to increase the carat weight, and there is a large difference between heated sapphires and unheated sapphires. An unheated sapphire costs 2-3x what a heated sapphire costs, all else being equal.

I personally prefer the blue sapphires that Finewater Gems has, but the cushions are either not elongated or are only 5mm in width. Their 5.30 ct elongated cushion cut unheated blue sapphire is gorgeous, but is 1) more saturated than a light blue, and 2) above your budget.

Likewise--PristineGemstones on Etsy has many fine lighter colored sapphires, but they also do not meet your above 6mm in width requirement.

If I may give you a piece of personal advice, be on the lookout for your ideal shade of blue and be just a little flexible on size. What matters with enjoying colored gemstones first and foremost is beauty, not size. Good luck on your search!

The one you found doesn't look purple at all to me. Just wanna say good luck in your search and keep looking until you're really satisfied, despite how quickly you want the gratification. The wait is hard, but you'll find the right one!

I'm now searching for a longer oval-shaped sapphire - but am open to an elongated cushion or emerald cut if the color and size is right.

Anyway, is oval not a popular shape for sapphires? I just don't seem to be finding many.

Also, has anybody worked with Choice Gems Co.? I found them on Instagram and they seem to get some really nice sapphires. They recently put up a Ceylon sapphire that I'm super jealous of - it's exactly the color I want.

I haven't worked with them, but they seem legit. I would confirm their return policies and ask about certifications, etc. But if you like a specific color they have, I'd inquire about it.

Make sure ask them for a video. The colour in some of their photos is not accurate. Ask lots of questions some sellers do not tell you all the flaws of the stones

Seems like it may be a little on the pricy side for what it is, though. Any thoughts on the cut/color/clarity?

Cut, color and clarity all look superb. There's little gray in this one.
