Certified in 2000?

The year the diamond I bought from my jeweler was certified was 2000, as stated on the certificate. Is this good or bad? Does it matter? I am clueless.

Ditto. It can mean one of many things, and as long as it is from a reputable lab and a trusted vendor you are probably fine. If you are worried about it take it to an independent appraiser prior to purchase to make sure you are getting what you paid for.
