Here's the GIA US pricng structure.SDplaya|1329113884|3125150 said:Great question that I would love to know as well. meaning could you buy a EGL stone thats say F color and pay for it to be certified by GIA and they say G but you paid the EGL price + the GIA cert process. has anyone ever done this?
GIA offers 2 styles of reporting on natural diamonds below 2 carats. 'Dossier' reports have no plotting diagram on the report and there's a girdle inscription included as part of the service. 'Diamond Quality Reports' include a bit more information and the inscription is optional. In both cases you can have additional things inscribed for a small extra fee if you want.bright ice|1329143298|3125265 said:So, I see just because you have a GIA graded stone, it does not mean it has the # inscription on the stone?

It says in the comments section of the report if you should expect to find an inscription on the stone (if the inscription was there before the examination or if they did it at the same time they did the report).
The report format varies from one facet design to the next. The report for OEC's doesn't include a cut grade and they eliminate some of the data included on some of the other cuts. It there a little diagram near the bottom right corner of the report that looks like a diamond profile with an assortment of dimensions on it? That's where the proportion information is listed on their reports. They may be able to tell you more about your stone if you call them and ask about it. 1-800-421-7250
That's all you get on an OEC from them.bright ice|1329145208|3125291 said:It has a diamond diagram that gives me the table, depth and girdle.

For OECs, if you want the numbers for the Crown and Pavilion Angles and Degrees to be listed on the GIA Diamond Grading Report, is this something you can request at the time you place the Report order? I don't understand why they wouldn't include those numbers...
No. It's possible they'll tell you more about your stone if you call them or email them but crown and pavilion angles and percentages are not part of their evaluation of OEC's.marymm|1329150117|3125329 said:denverappraiser|1329146673|3125299 said:That's all you get on an OEC from them.bright ice|1329145208|3125291 said:It has a diamond diagram that gives me the table, depth and girdle.

Any AGS member can certainly submit stones to AGSL. Actually, pretty much any jeweler, appraiser or diamond dealer can do it whether they're a member or not. Prices will vary a bit depending on how much the person submitting the stone is charging for THEIR part of the service and don't forget the shipping/insurance components but figure AGSL's part as pretty comparable to the GIA fees linked above for the 'Diamond Quality Report' service.Ravinmad|1329152058|3125359 said:Denverappraiser, Could we get a AGSL report and rating going thru a member? I realize they do not take stones from individuals but from one of their members I might think you could get it graded, and as to the price of their grading would likely be for a Platinum diamond report????
