Ceramics...anyone else collect them?

I started collecting ceramics about 14 years ago. Does anyone else here? I’d love to see it!

Here are a few of my favorites:

I do, as a matter of fact - one orange tabby who has the run of the place. Luckily for me, she's not much of a jumper so I'm able to keep some things out of her reach. The rest live safely in a cabinet and come out when we have company.

Yes, I’m a collector of many things including ceramics.
My pride and joy is my Fairyland Lustre collection.
Wedgwood circa 1915- 1920s painted by the designer Daisy Makeig Jones. Pieces are eye wateringly expensive and you may call 2 pieces a collection ha ha.
This collection has taken 25 years to acquire.
Hand painted both inside and out and incredibly beautiful.

I'm not a collector per se, I just have a few pieces my parents made. My grandmother did these, my grandfather was the man who did lots of noods...lol can't show those.



More pieces of this set are put away in a cabinet, but this is what I put out in my office As a little kid I remember my grandmother making these as well as other things that she would sell. I remember she made Nixon mugs which used to scare me half to death...lol She had a little hut in the back of the house where she would make everything (I called it the hut...lol) She made lots of them, well before I was even born. I don't know all the story but even when my mom was a kid my grandmother was firing. I think thats pretty cool!! This set has another shaker and 6 corn on the cob holders. The other shaker was put away as its quite fragile, and I didn't want to risk having it out. She also used to make corn on the cob pitchers, plates, mugs, you name it.

My sister has a mugs and pitcher set...yes of corn...lol

I only got a few pieces, most was dispersed through the family after my grandmother passed.

I don’t collect ceramics but I collect vintage dishes. One of my favorites is Wedgewood Corinthian Blue from the 50’s.

I also collect vintage cake plates..

I have a thing for vintage platters..

OK! I love to research the pieces!
Some of the English potters had backstamps that are easy to decipher, and others are more mysterious. It's so much fun to find out what you have and how old it is.

Thanks! The also collect blue and white..I have a platter here..I wonder if it has a stamp. It’s not new new..I picked it up at an estate sale. I’ll take a pic later.

Art pottery is hard to find. I'm always looking! If only I could find Grueby, Teco, Weller, Rookwood, Newcomb..........
