I saw Ben Affleck at the airport in Japan one year, but had no idea who he was until we saw a picture of him in a magazine.

M''s family has a lot more sightings - his dad has run into (and talked to) Anthony Hopkins and Dave Matthews (okay, Dave isn''t exactly super special - they live in the same town, and it seems like EVERYBODY there has some Dave story), M''s little sister met Lauren Graham when they were filming Evan Almighty across the street from her HS, and I know there are more but I can''t remember. Oh! M and his sisters have met Sissy Spacek and her daughter Schuyler Fisk. And I think his dad met John Grisham...

As in DMB? He has a house out there? DH saw him in Seattle with his daughter and he was high as a kite.

I met Drew Lachey once after a concert. He''s little. Like 5''4 little.

My sister''s ex-BF''s dad is a head honcho in Hollywood and took our family to Spago, where we met Wolfgang Puck and got a signed cookbook from him! He was so nice! Also saw Heather Locklear there.

This was a kind of weird topper to a super bizarre week. On Sunday we got an email from someone to our antique mall asking to purchase a 1890s Moser console set- a beautiful piece of Victorian glass, gilded with these teensy applied porcelain flower clusters, for $2400. The email address was somethingsomething "whoopigoldberg" @whatever.com. Neither my husband or I really thought it *was* Whoopi Goldberg, we just assumed it was a fan of hers or something.

Nope. It actually was Whoopi Goldberg. She bought the Moser piece and is having it shipped to NY. She was incredibly nice and very quick to respond (she was using both an iPhone and an iPad). I hadn''t realized her birth name was Caryn Johnson- she still uses it apparently since that was the shipping address name.

I must say she has great taste, the centerpiece is really beautiful.
