Why do celebrities opt for large stones over 5 carats if it isn't eye clean OR do they find eye clean stones that size? Do they ever post pics close up enough to see if their stones are all that great at their larger than life size? For example Kardashian's 2 million dollar ring with the emerald cut. It looks eye clean in the pics I have seen! Is there a site that tells about their stones such as whether it was an ags or Gia graded stone? Always curious what they really look like up close!

I suspect the desire for the largest diamond one can afford is as common at 100-carats as it is at 0.10-carat.

If you look at the celebrity ering thread some ofthe pictures are extreme close up and there are stats listed...but I don't think they usually list clarity. Usually just carat and color.

I imagine most celebrities can afford an eyeclean large stone!

Sure, they can afford it, but would they spend that type of $? Re: kim's ring, there had been ALOT of speculations about her using a high quality fake, since she said she bought a fake for everyday wear. I just don't see anyone levelheaded buying such an expensive item just to store in a safe?

But, on the other hand, I had seen some pics of her ring that happened to have a noticeable yellow tint to it.

Sometimes I really wonder if they just BS all the stats and prices to make themselves seem more "elite" than they really are.

for 2 million dollars I am assuming it's real, and they had it appraised.

That said...I've never seen her. Heard she got married, though.

It's over already. Yes, it's true.

Most celebrities do not have 20 carat diamonds, so I wouldn't use Kim K as a typical example of celebrity diamonds. I would question whether the whole thing was a publicity stunt and she might have borrowed that ring or it could have been fake.

This is obviously just a guess but I suspect there comes a point where a diamond is actually too big.

I've read that E. T. Said (iPhone, sigh) the Taylor-Burton was too big as a ring even for her, and I read Mrs Annenberg the previous owner said the same thing about it.

Then even as a pendant Taylor sold it. I've never understood why exactly.

I've read she said she regretted it. I've read shr had a hospital built with the proceeds.

My personal they is that the Krupp (30 something) was her "just right" size.

She obviously liked it better than any other diamond.

The Taylor-Burton was much larger, she didn't need th money, and she sold it.

As far as eye clea at 5 ct, not a problem.

BTW, of course, DS, we know Kim Kardashion's ring's keystone wasn't 20 ct, I think maybe 15 ct? I agree that we don't know anything about who paid for it. From all we know about Kim Kardashion, it could hav been rented.
