Hi all

I bought this stone at Dana at mastercut gems a while ago and was umming and ahhing about whether to go white gold or rose gold

Then i saw this setting on ebay from ID Jewelry. I have to say that they were a delight to deal with and managed to post out the setting the day they were closing for holidays. It was posted last Wednesday and i got it today. I haven't managed to get stuff from within Australia that quick.

So here are the pics. The stone isn't set yet, i need to send it off for that, so it is just sitting in there. Let me know what you think. Too simple? Also does it look like the stone is too big for the setting?
Excuse the hands, i know they are bad :)

oh and stats
1.5ct colour change sapphire
18K white gold 0.29ct F SI setting

thanks for looking :)

I like it a lot! Simple but with unusual detailing. And I love the sapphire

Great!

Love that setting. Very unique and it looks fantastic with the sapphire.

Very pretty!! What is "ID Jewelry" on ebay? Never heard of them.

I love that setting and the CC is excellent on that stone!

TL- ID jewelry is a PS sponser and they also have an ebay store where the prices (and the selection) are less.

I like the setting. Simple but elegant and your sapphire is the main focus.

Thanks for the replies :)

This is sort of one my first setting of a stone so i was a bit nervous.
I can't wait to get this set now so i can wear it.

The colour change is amazing, it goes from a soft blue to like a teal to a deep purple colour. If only i could work out how to capture it!

It looks very pretty!

Both the stone and the setting are gorgeous! I didn't know IDJ had an ebay store. The stone seems to be sitting a bit high in the setting, and I realize it's not set, but be sure to talk to your jeweler about exactly how high you want it to be set.

Hi all

Well it is set!! I really love it. I don't know much about prong settings, i am more of a bezel girl. So what do you think? is it sitting too high? does it look ok?

Sorry for the blurry pics. I really need to get a better camera so i can take macro shots

I  your ring! Love the colour change and the detail on the ring is amazing. I actually think the stone is sitting a bit low in the setting, in the the 3rd and 4th pictures from the top in your first post the ring looks kinda prongy. But that could be the camera angle becoz it's not as obvious in your other photos.

Very pretty!

The stone looks to me as though it's set properly--that kind of setting does have the stone set up higher than other styles. Just be careful not to clunk it!
