I prefer die struck if possible over cast for low end mountings depending on design.
find a good benchman and have him order up some settings from stuller.

No wisdom. For certain stones, I just don't want to spend more on setting them than they cost (which may argue for leaving them dormant). I have an emerald-cut Rhodolite (ring?) and two pear-shaped ones (earring dangles?), as well as a round Heliodor (pendant?).Date: 10/7/2007 1:57:04 AM

Darlin...not asking you to specifically explain...but with all your beauties...why would you consider cast creations? Is there any wisdom or advice you have learned that may be helpful to the rest of us? Inquiring minds want to know.
Or should you just tell me to point to a pretty cast one and move on?
What type of stones...what pieces are you wanting to create?
