I am looking for someone to make a reproduction of the Cartier 1922 ring. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am looking for a reproduction as close to the original as possible.

Thanks :)

Hi There! Are you talking about this ring? I love this ring

Maybe Leon Mege or check out this thread https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/set-my-2-47-f-if-asscher-design-ideas.56027/page-2

Thanks for the thread

Love this ring, and would go to Leon Mege to make something similar. I have a ring by Leon, and love it. Good luck in your search.

I love that setting I have seen an original.
Most of today's copies don't get the melee set right.
It is not a channel and they are not bead set which the reproductions try and do.
If I was having one made I would show them that picture and make sure they do the melee that way and use well cut single cuts.

This may not be the right way to phrase the question, but how do I ask the designer to set the melee (as in how would it be described in jeweler terms)?

I sent out a request to a couple people who may know what it is properly called.

Hi Mr. Jeweler, how is the melee in this picture set? Can you replicate it?

That''s what works for me.

Then come on here and tell us what they tell you and we''ll tell you if we think they are right or not. I second the single cuts.

It is somewhat similar to a fishtail except the tails are between the diamonds not over the edges from the side.
Here is a beautiful fishtail setting owned by a PS member as you can see it has the tails but not in the same place as the Cartier.

arrows pointing to the tails.
