Care to help? Looking for that perfect (to me) round stone

First I have to thank everyone for all the help thus far. While I haven't commented or anything I can't begin to say how helpful these site and forums have been to my search. With that said now with my little knowledge I am now parallelized by decisions/ options and the clock for this all coming together when I wanted is passing or possibly has passed. So I thought I might throw a hail marry and ask for some help...

I'm looking for a round brilliant cut stone. My gf has long thin fingers so unfortunately for me diamonds look small so I'm hoping for at least 2.0 carats but obviously wouldn't mind going bigger. She just wants sparkle. I doubt she will even care about reports and grades, just wants something pretty. So well cut, eye clean, and J or better in color. Setting will be in a simple 4 prong white gold, no other side stones or anything else on the ring. Ideally budget wise I would like to stay under 13k for the stone.

So does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Everytime I start looking online I just get frustrated and walk away. The brick and mortar stores I have been into the loose stones seem so overpriced comparatively so I haven't pulled the trigger (that said I think I will still get it set with the people that have been the most helpful to me).

Thanks in advance if you gotten this far down to help!

A well cut round j or higher will not fit in your 13k budget.

Something has to give.

Would she consider other shapes? Lower color? Lower CTW?

Bummer... :(

I guess come down in color? Maybe this is just highlights that I need to buy in a store because when I think of a K I think it's going to be yellow... but I'm sure that's not the case. Again here I am with my indecisiveness!! :wall:

heres a K id consider. It has more of a grey, green type undertone, so it might show less color. You would need to ask them for and idealscope and to see if its eye clean or not.

I think that's a nice possibility. I would ask the gemologist about the color.

I'll add this one: ask for an ASET or an idealscope image.

If it works out.. nice stone.

Here's another option. Fabulous idealscope. http://www.b2cjewels.com/dd-6363308-2.00-carat-Round-diamond-J-color-VS2-Clarity.aspx?sku=6363308&utm_source=pricescope.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=pricescope.com

Ask them to have the gemologist pick between this one and the last one for you.

You all are the best! Total newbie questions but how noticeable is .18 carat going to be? I would just lean towards the larger :).

Have someone holding the stones side by side pick for you, if at all possible.
