Carat size difference

Hi PS''ers,

I _had_ decided that I''d go with the 1.148 carat BG stone but after reviewing the 1.27 I was having second thoughts. The 1.27 is $4600 more with an increase in 2 color levels (F to D) and an increase in clarity (VS2 to VS1) and a 0.13 carat size increase. I think it ultimately boils down to ''mind clean'' vs ''eye clean'' and sometimes I wish I didn''t have access to the Idealscope, ASET images - it is truly a blessing and a curse.

So the question - going from 1.15 to 1.27, is the 0.12 increase even noticeable when it is set?

This is driving me nuts!

no, not noticeable when set unless side by side. About a 0.3mm difference in diameter.

You would notice a slight difference if comparing unmounted diamonds side by side but not when set, both stones would give essentially the same look when worn on the hand.
