I just sold my Honda Crosstour and I am looking at 2019-2020 Acura RDX with Tech

My DH has an Acura RDX. His is a 2014. It has over 180k miles and while it's performance is still good, it has a lot of wear on the interior and a few little maintenance hiccups are starting to pop up. He sometimes has to take customers in it, and we have kids who are driving now, so once the pandemic eases up he'll be ready to buy a new car. We have looked at nearly EVERYthing (I enjoy cars so I shopped with him), and he keeps coming back to the RDX because it checks ALL the boxes. (Nice finishes, quiet ride, nice handling, reliability, safety, gas mileage, armrest falls in the right place, dash is designed well and user-friendly, interior design meets 'convenient-places-to-put-stuff' needs, price is excellent for what you get - i.e. good value).

The only drawback is that I personally find the redesign of the exterior less attractive on the new models. Once I pointed that out to DH, he can't unsee it. He may opt for a 2018 with low miles.

ETA for clarity: he's not taking customers anywhere now because of the pandemic, so he can take his time about getting a new car.

I have the 2019 RDX and before that I had the 2016 RDX. I find them extremely comfortable to drive and ride in and have had no issues.

We have had 4 Acuras and loved them all. The last one was an MDX. Highly recommend Acura.

2014 RDX here. About 130k miles. Would be about 160k if no covid. I have had zero issues other than routine maintenance. Nice quality for a reasonable price be all in. Honestly, I'll probably just buy the same car again once it's time. It's a good value vehicle with nice extras but not too spendy like Audi or BMW.

We have a 2016 RDX. Love it! Completely reliable, no problems with it, great on the highway. It's quiet and really solid to drive.

Mine is the oldie in the group - I have a 2008 and it has 260,000km/161,000 mi. It is the "workhouse" car. Its the dog park car, the costco trip car, the moving car, the winter plow. My husband doesnt really drive it anymore (on to his nicer, newer cars), but I absolutely love it. I will probably drive it into the ground and then buy another.
The only issues ive had was the fuse broke and AC broke (of course on the day it was like +40c too). I keep up regular maintenance with fluids and brakes and expect it to last a while longer.

I am so glad to hear the good comments about the RDX. I am waiting for my dealer to get back to me on 2019 w tech that is being traded in with only 17,000 miles.

I'll raise you my 2004 TSX. My AC broke about 2 years ago, but it was an easy fix. I've not had any major issues with the car, just routine maintenance here and there. It has about 120k miles on it.

Yours is almost old enough to drink in many countries!! You win

@telephone89 and @Rubymal ,

This is a competition!?!?

In that case, my much-loved 2003 TL S-Type wants to play.

@autumngems , I know someone who bought a 2019 RDX, and I'm pretty sure its the Tech model. He loves it. I've driven it a few times and also think its great.

Honda/Acura make reliable vehicles that last a long time, so I won't be surprised if another poster shows up with one that's older than 2003.

Haha, I bow down to thee!

UUUUGGGHHH, trying to decide we have seen a few A Specs and also an Advance, hard to decide.

Have you seen this article?

At least you have narrowed it down to the make and model-but comparing packages is another level of detail.

If you are a Costco member, check out Costco Autos and see if your dealer participates. They have member pricing and discounts on both new and pre-owned!!

In 2017 when my wife bought her new car I was able to negotiate a better price with the dealership than the Costco membership price.
