Can't wait for my BGD reset!

I shipped my RB in the old Verragio setting off to BGD today - they are going to reset it in their platinum 6-prong TIffany style knife edge solitaire. I can't wait!!! I took a bunch of "last dance" pictures in the old setting - I can't wait to post comparison pics when I get the new setting ...

I have to say that shipping from the Post Office was pretty scary - I don't think the guy ever sent an insured package before. He asked me to fill out the form, and when I wrote down the appraised amount of my ring for insurance, he YELLED out, "$30,000?!? What's in there?" :nono: So, now every single person working there knew that it was an expensive package. How professional ... I did send it registered and insured with a tracking number, but I just never trust a government run agency as much as I trust a private company like Fedex ... I hope it gets there ...

Talk about lack of tact. Yea, I hated it when my post office person asked me what was in the package when I shipped off my ring for resetting. I mumbled "....jewelry" really quietly because I didn't want everyone to know!

Can't wait to see the new reset!

How exciting Vesper! I think it will look so much prettier (and even more huge!) in the 6 prong setting.

Grr, how annoying! :angryfire:

When I was shipping something to Whiteflash, the post office woman asked me "Oh, is it jewelry?" and I STUPIDLY replied yes. She guessed based on the size of the box and the value. Fortunately, it still got there and no one got any ideas, whew.

So excited for you and can't wait to see the new ring! USPS is the safest shipping option and I'm sure it will arrive safely. I guess we are so accustomed to reading about people shipping their jewelry off - but most postal workers don't see things insured for that much. They could use a lesson in confidentiality issues!

Eek, I would not have been happy with the USPS worker!

But I'm very excited for your reset!

Yah! So is this your "temprary" setting until you do the big kahuna reset for your 10th anni?

And what a jerkface employee :nono: When I have shipped to BGD I used their FedEx account and they billed me, but it was from Canada.

Can't wait to see it...any idea of how long it should take? Will you be wearing it with the eternity band in your avatar?

Woo hoo!!! Very exciting, Vesper.
I would be so annoyed with the USPS worker. grrrr.

I feel your anticipation. I had the same thing happen to me as I was returning stones while looking to buy.

I sent my stones to BGD two days ago via USPS. He will be designing a three stone for me.

I thought the maximum amount with registered mail was $25K?? I'm praying your ring arrives uneventfully. :saint:

Hi everyone,

MissGotRocks, thanks for the reassurance - you're right. I"m sure it will be fine, but I will still be nervous until it reaches BGD ...

Dreamer, that's right - this is a long-term "temp" setting for the next 6 years. I still am always undecided about the "fancy" ring look that I want - baguettes, sidestones, micropave halo? I love all of those looks, but I don't want to commit to anything until I'm sure. Plus, I've always loved the 6-prong Tiffany setting, so I think it will be classic and look good with all my bands while really showing off the center stone.

Yenny, I will be wearing it with the eternity band in my avatar. That's a WF custom-made band with 8 pointers, just like the TIffany shared-prong, so the set should be a ringer for Tiffany's when I put them together.

Bright Ice, I can't wait to see your 3-stone!

Starry, you're right - the max amount the would let me insure it for was $25K, even though my appraisal says $30K. However, my appraisal is from the jeweler who sold us the ring, so it's higher than what we actually paid. When I told my DH that I was worried about them losing my ring, he said, "hey, look at it this way - if they lose it & pay you the insurance, you'll actually get an upgrade."

Ah, decision time!

I do hope you adore it vesper ::) Can't wait to see pics and hear your thoughts!

What an idiotic employee. It'll get there no problems, I'm sure of it, but your blood pressure didn't need the spike I'm sure :nono:

I'm so excited for you! Brian's is my favorite six prong setting of all of them. Do you know how long it will take to reset?

I can understand what you're going through here, my 1.57 Eightstar is on it's way to WF from Iraq. That takes 3 weeks! :errrr: :errrr:

I can't wait to see pics of your new setting, I'll bet that'll be pretty. :cheeky:

Yay, I just got the confirmation that BGD received my ring. I am so relieved - now I can't wait for the reset!

You really should let us see these new photos you just took :naughty: :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:

That is good news that your packaged arrived safely!
