Canadians who ordered from WF/GOG etc

Hey everyone who lives in Canada but purchased their diamond/setting from WF or GOG or Pearlmans etc... what do you do when you want it polished etc? Did you send it back to them (and if so how did you deal with the whole cross-border insurance issue and the whole pay taxes on the whole darn thing again issue) or did you find a local jeweler to do the work??

To be honest, it''s much easier to find a local jeweller. That''s what I did.

DD - I take my WF purchase to my local jeweler to have it taken care of ... Good question. I''ll be interested to hear if everyone does the same of if they don''t, how they deal with it.

If my ring needs any maintenance, resizing, etc., I will definitely get Leon to do it. I travel to the US quite often, and to NYC twice a year or so, so either I''ll just bring it in person, or FedEx to and from the US while I''m there. BTW I live in Calgary.

Thanks for posting peeps! I also travel to the US regularly (bi-weekly) for business so I will probably send it to WF, but I obviously need to cultivate a relationship with a jeweler that I can really trust to be crazy perfectionistic! I have a jeweler now, but I don''t know if I want to work with him anymore... guess I''ll have to start asking around!
