Hi All,

I'm looking for an engagement ring for my fiancé and unfortunately / fortunately, she's adamant on a Canadian diamond.

We went to a jeweler to in downtown LA to look at some diamonds and get a feel at what she'd be interested in. We looked at two diamonds and spent most of the time talking about the 1.05 carat one. I actually prefer the 2nd diamond (.81 carat) better because you couldn't see any color, as opposed to the 1st diamond.

1st Ring:
Princess
GIA
Carat: 1.05
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Very Good
Depth: 71%
Table: 67%
Color: G
Clarity: VS1
Dimensions: 5.76 x 5.55 x 3.98
Price: $6100

2nd Ring:
Princess
GIA
Carat: 0.81
Color: D
$4200

It was a really good experience looking / trying on the diamonds in person.

Back to the Canadian diamonds. I ended up on Brilliant Earth with the following options. Would like to hear opinions on these or any suggestions outside of B.E.

Carat is not the most important thing as long as it's .8 and above. I really liked the colorless diamonds. Thanks in advance.

hello;Canadian diamonds are just as good as any other. They are actually the only diamonds that are honestly and verifiable as conflict free. Diamonds from any other source are bogus in their claims and paper work. It is also really difficult to tell where the diamonds originate. So ,purchase your Canadian diamond direct from the source to be sure and enjoy.

I don't have any experience with that company, but wanted to suggest that you view G diamonds on their own, with no others to use as comparison. You'll definitely see a tint when it is put alongside a D diamond, but that won't happen IRL, once it's set into an engagement ring. You can either save money, or get a larger sized stone, if you're happy with a G on its own. :))
