Assuming same size (1ct), clarity and colour would you be able to tell the difference by (eye) sight between say a H&A Whiteflash diamond and a standard Tiffany diamond in the same lighting conditions etc??

Just curious if there will be a massive difference for the casual observer?

Are you talking about the actual stone (diamond) or the setting?

Some may argue that there are miniscule differences between the settings, and of course, if you buy a real Tiffs you have bragging rights on the blue box etc.

As for the stone, if you purchased an ACA from WF, the stone would be better quality from WF.

So, when it comes down to it, you can have a cheaper better cut stone put into a replica setting (which I happen to own, and I have had Tiffs SAs mistake them for one of their own) or you can get a beautiful diamond *not as super well cut* in a real Tiffs setting and can tell the world where you got it from.

Good luck, it''s up to you

Sorry, not sure if I explained myself clearly...

I am talking about the diamond itself.

If you had two side by side (in the same setting of course) would you be able to immediately tell the difference?

I know the ACA from WF would be cut better etc....BUT can you tell the difference by eye as a casual observer?

For the casual observer, no. If you showed them two rings and did not tell them which was which I think you might be VERY surprised at which one they chose as being obviously the more beautiful under close examination, although unless they were well trained they probably could not tell you what it was about the diamond that was making them choose it.

Would they both be beautiful? Sure.

Would one normally be more beautiful? Sure.

Still, I am guessing without the blue box and the cache of the name, that the unknowing viewer would pick the blue box ring way less than 50% of the time...

Wink

I color and above. No J or K or under at Tiffany, as I recall reading, lol.
