Can you try before you buy?

How does it work when you see a ring online that you like but you''d have to order it in your size, making it a custom order. You want to try it on with your other ring before you buy it. The vendor says they''ll send it to you to try.

Do you pay for it before they send their "sample"? How does this work?

If the vendor told you they would send it to you to try, why not just ask them what payment they require. It differs depending on the vendor.

bill pearlman sometimes mails out settings for a testdrive, but only in the stock sizes. It''s a great option if a vendor can do it for you. It never hurts to ask, the worse thing is that they will say no.

From most vendors, you pay for the setting and they credit you when you send it back.
