Can you translate an SI1 picture from net into reality?

Hey All,

Just stumbled across this stone and loved the ideal scope image. It costs significantly lower than what I had intended to spend and is not even the type of stone I was really looking at, but I am not that patient of a person and if it costs less all the better. Would open a trip to Paris or something!

Questions is, is it possible to anticipate what these inclusions will look like in person from interenet pictures that I will never be able to duplicate? Sarin''s Crown- 34.5 pavillion- 40.9-41. The difference in pavillion angle changes HCA from 1.4-1.7 and merchants numbers put it at 1 (so I guess I shouldn''t focus on that too much). I am not too worried about whether it performs well, just the visable inclusions.

I am sure you all know where it is from, but any help from experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, sjr

I was just wondering if anyone would be so kind as to offer their own personal interpretations of these specific inclusions (as John said--> they as well as the customer have their own individual understanding of ''eye clean''). I am looking to see if the picture provided can tell me anything I am not anticipating. Thanks, sjr

Since the picture is magnified I think it would be impossible to surmise what it will look like in person. All you can do is ask the vendor to look it over and describe what he sees to you and then see it for yourself.

keep in mind this picture is *highly* magnified (40x i believe) you may never again see your diamond at this type of magnification (except for identification purposes).
if you are interested in the stone, i would call wf and have them explain the type and location of inclusions to you. i think there is great value in si stones and definetly worth exploring further.

Keep in mind that visible inclusions may not show in the 40x mag pictures. For example, inclusions may be hidden by the dark arrows.

If the inclusions I am seeing in the picture are the grade makers, the black spot lower left and a possible small cleavage on the right, then the stone should probably be completely eye clean and a stunning looker based on its ideal scope picture. Since WF has an excellent return policy it is well worth risking a little postage on to see.

I bought a large SI2 stone from Whiteflash. I was reluctant but everything else about the stone was good and it was much lower than my budget.

Brian examined it and told me it was eye clean. I can see numerous small inclusions with a 10 power loupe and the GIA plot shows many small inclusions

Although I have had the ring over a year and know exactly where the inclusions are, I cannot find them without a loupe. A jeweler I visited recently commented on my ring. He too saw nothing with his naked eye and guessed that my ring cost much more than double what I paid for it.

He was surprised when I told him it was an SI2 until he looked with a loupe.
