Ok...we have the stone. It''s an Asscher .90 D VS2 and pretty as I don''t even know what! I''m so flippin'' excited!
Next issue: the setting...
We really liked the idea of going with traps on the side but they''re just too expensive. One suggestion was to do two small baguettes next to the stone, the first one larger than the other, sort of mimicking the trapezoid shape but with baguettes instead.
I cannot picture this. Does anyone have any ideas of how it would look and whether it would work. I''m not sure if they would be channel set or step-down baguettes, if one is better than the other, or if the whole idea should be scrapped.
I had another thread where someone (Gypsy maybe?) showed a gorgeous ring with french cut (I think) side stones. My fiance much prefers the baguettes (either this new idea or the more common method of one tapered baguette on each side going with the band). So basically still trying to figure out the logistics of the setting.
If anyone has any ideas or pictures, I would really appreciate the help!
Thank you so much in advance. You have all been wonderful!
