Can you mix 14 and 18K?

Probably a really stupid question...LOL

My future e-ring (assuming he still wants to give it to me

) is 14K. The band that I love and that goes well with the setting is an 18k from HOF.

Here''s the dumb question: Is there a difference in the color of the metal between 14K and 18k?

white or yellow? (or pink?)

14K/18K white look the same since they''re both rhodium plated.

14K/18K yellow or pink look different because due to % of gold content.

Sometimes yellow and pink are plated as well, not a lot of people are aware of this, especially if it''s coming from Italy.
