I am currently in the market for an engagement ring and i have 2 diamonds that are going for the same price at a vendor that i know.
one of the diamond is a
Princess Cut, F, VS1, 1.01 ct. very thin to very thick girdle. depth is 77.3% and table is 74%
the other one is
Princess Cut, D, VS1, 0.91 ct, medium to very thick girdle, depth is 72% and table is 77.3%

The prices are virtually the same so i just want to know what is the better diamond.

please help. it is pretty urgent as i am speaking with my vendor at the moment!

I can't help too much as I am not one of the experts on princess cuts, but I do know that the very thin girdle on the one stone could pose a problem. If the girdle is very thin at the corners it is more prone to chipping. I also know that for the experts to give you their opinion they will likely need more info than you have given. Images of the diamonds or links to their grading reports will help them give you better advice.

Also, here is a link that should be somewhat helpful to you as well. https://www.pricescope.com/wiki/diamonds/princess-cut-diamond

unfortunately i do not have any pictures of the diamond at the moment.
i agree with the very thin girdle proposing some issues but i was also concerned about the depth and table ratios.
i have heard multiple times that the table should always be lower than the depth so which is why i am inclined to go with the F diamond.
When i went in to see the diamonds, visually i selected the F diamond. the girdle is the only thing that is making me reconsider

If you do a few searches and read old threads where people are looking for princess cuts it will give you some more info on what to look for. I looked briefly and found quite a bit of info, you just have to look for it. With the limited data you are providing, no one is going to be able to give you great advice. I would guess that both the table and depth seem to be on the high side to produce a really good princess, but again, I am no expert and I hope that one does chime in for you. And I don't think that is true about the table NEEDING to be less than the depth, though it is most likely to be true in MOST well cut princesses. In the mean time, I recommend you look through some old threads and you should get some help from that at least.

If cut is most important to you, I suspect that you could do better than the two you have presented here. Having said that, if you saw one and loved it in various lighting (not just in the jewelery store), I guess that is your answer.
