Can you help me find my engagement diamond?

I am told there are people here that can lead me to an excellent purchase. I am looking for the best diamond possible at the most reasonable (and lowest possible) price. I would like to stay on the range of $4,500-5,000.

I am looking for a radiant (square shape) 1.07 ct or better. I know my fiance would like to have a colorless stone (D, E, or F) and at least VS2 clarity. In general, I want a diamond that will have a lot of fire, look bigger than it''s size and make an excellent purchase for a reasonable price. Is all this possible for my range?

For the setting...can anyone advise as to which is better? Platinum or white gold. If you choose white gold, 14k or 18k...does it matter? Thanks in advance for your help...this site has already been amazingly helpful for me.

What kind of setting does she want. If it''s simple, what you want MAY be possible for your budget. But most likely you would need to drop down to G SI1 for your minimum threshold and raise your budget to around 6,000. More if you want complicated platinum setting.


Plus, specifying a 1.07 minimum is frankly so arbitrary. If you are going to set a standard for size you should do it by spread. You could easily find a 1.00 diamond that is LARGER than a 1.07. What mm size does she want, approximately. And what length to width ratio does she want (a more rectangular stone or a more square one)

Here''s what I found in your budget. You need to call and ask Mark about them if any appeal to you. Also, please not the ratios, two of these are really square and the other is a fat rectangle.
