Can you bring your own food?

Our wedding will be a catered cocktail reception but I was wondering if anyone knows if it''s generally OK if we brought in other foods ourselves. I was thinking a candy bar that we do ourselves or homemade gazpacho or something like that. I''m thinking the catering company would be concerned that whatever I bring in will reflect on them???

Just ask your caterer or check your contract. They might request that everything goes through them. So you ask for a candy station and they go off and look for candy. Actually, I saw a candy station in a Martha Stewart magazine.
I requested a cotton candy machine with colors to match the wedding, hehe.
