Can someone tell me why these diamonds are so much cheaper?

Re: Can someone tell me why these diamonds are so much cheap

These are virtual stones with no pictures and no information from the vendor regarding whether they are eyeclean. Are you looking for a ring for yourself or for someone else? Have you seen K color?

They are drop shipped. The vendor never even sees them. No overhead and no oversight. I would not buy an SI diamond from a drop shipper.

Yes I have seen a K color diamond and can't hardly tell a difference between less colored diamonds in normal lighting situations. Also thanks for the feedback on how these type of vendors work.

My main concern would be the clarity of the diamond. With SI diamonds, it is not guaranteed that the diamond will be eye clean. So I would either stick with VS clarity or go with a regular vendor that can evaluate the diamond prior to purchasing.

Send those to IDJewelery. They can inspect them for you and let you know if they are eye clean and what type of light performance they have, and give you the same price as b2c.

Of the diamonds you sent:
1.57 - No Certification
1.50 - Could be good, need to get checked out if eyeclean and light performance
1.39 (the 5.4K one) - Could be good, need to get checked out if eyeclean and light performance
1.39 (the more expensive one) - like the other one better.
1.32 - Need to look at a K with "Faint Brown" in person. not sure what this would look like. Good proportions though.

When i started my diamond search I was all over B2C and felt like they often gave the lowest price for viritual stones that many vendors carried. Thats great. But IDJ can match their prices and provide you with the needed due dilligance in terms of pictures and light performance etc.

Faint brown K's are not attractive. I've actually seen 3 of them (odd but true) and as much as I like lower colored stones they are really risky IMO. I wouldn't buy one without seeing it, and would never buy one for someone else.
