Can someone tell me a little bit about this 1.64ct RB from GOG?

Rhino,

Would it be at all possible to request a video of this stone along with another stone that I might be interested and explain features like one of the video comparisons on the website ?

Hey Jon what was identified was a flaw in your photo/light setup.
I just looks through a bunch of DiaXray images and a lot of them have it and its not related to a specific angle of the ugf.

Hi Queenmum,

In answer to your comments about the upper half angles and my article on the minor facets, this would apply if all 16 of the upper half facets were cut >45 degrees. The fact of the matter is that there are only 2 that are as noted via the Helium Report which shows all 16 upper half measurements. You also correctly identified through the only technology available that shows that minutia of detail.

Karl doesn''t thinks I correctly identified.

Thank you for your answer Jonathan.
Not a lot of diamond dealers dare to post as much information on their merchandise as you.
And you are right, nobody will see a difference, and if someone does, then just put a prong above it.

QM sorta like this one?

Its well under 45.. what your seeing is lighting related it would not surprise me that the 45 facets are at the bottom of the image you posted.

Rotating the diamond would make you pick a different set.
woops forgot the image...

Karl, would you call this diamond H&A?

Did you look at the hearts?
Yes and I blew up the hearts image to 800 pixels and took out a ruler to check it.
Its well within my limits for h&a.

Hi lakai,

Email your rep of which options you''d like to see in the comparison and I''ll be happy to oblige. I can leave out the sound too if you''d like to do a real pepsi challenge or you can just turn your sound off for the first run then hear my commentary on the 2nd.

Hi Stephan,

No prob. I see strm''s points and photography can be tricky due to slight tilt but what you''ve identified is what I typically see when upper girdle angles tend towards the steep side. I had typed out that response as I was leaving my lab tonight so I''ll have to confirm tomorrow. The blown up images tend to make it easier.

I have had examples of diamonds that should be cause of concern though with regards to the features I bring out in my article on the subject. Not too long ago we had a diamond that was neither painted or dug out yet had upper half angles >45 degrees all the way around. It''s appearance took on the look of what results from digging even though it wasn''t technically dug. I''ll see if I can locate the Helium of this to show ya as its quite interesting. Thanks for the kind words too.

I would definitely like the full on commentary about each diamond pointing out the qualities as well as your personal opinion between them. Thanks, I''ll email Sarah tomorrow with details.

I''d buy it in a second !

Why
Hi Lakai,
sorry I only just saw this - I think everyone has already said what I would, but pls let us know how you go after viewing Jon''s video.
I found the vids an invaluable tool whilst buying from them.

Lakai, I was once overly obsessive about choosing my stone and did end up with a magnificent 1.63 H VS1from Good Old Gold! Naturally, I think the stone you are looking at is excellent!!! I wouldn't hesitate to buy it. You probably could not tell it apart from mine! I am curious, though. In the shot above with the 4 stones, which one is it?

(Here are a few pictures if you'd like to see a similar stone once it is set: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/thank-you-andrey-leon-jonathan-and-tiffany.80475/ )

Its not that I''m obsessed about it but I search GOG''s website every few days for RB''s in with the specs that I look for to see if there is new inventory. I got wife a 1.9 F VVS2 princess cut when we got engaged 3 years ago but we haven''t had our wedding yet. Few months ago we decided to have our wedding and I would like to upgrade her ring to a RB and would like to stay as close to those specs but lower ct. weight (since they look larger) as possible. She''s wears a size 3 ring so you can imagine how large anything over 2ct would look on her finger.

There are plenty of H color stones but I''ve never personally seen how a H RB is but I have seen plenty of D-F but they are out of my price range for now. I can tell the difference between a D and F so I want see how big of a differnce going down to a G-H is.

In the picture the range in CT weight is 1.3-1.7 so theres a hint

I just took at look at your thread and the stone does look amazing. Would you happen to have the images of the stone from gog that I could take a look at ?

thank you,

Jerry

I emailed with my request for the video but I forgot to mention that I''d like the full on commentary to go along with it. I really appreciate the amount of time that GOG is willing to spend to make a sale.

lakai, please let us know what you pick!

Jonathan,

I just got your email and took at look at your video. All I can say really is that you helped start my day laughing. haha Out of all your videos that I''ve seen, this seems to be the only one where you didn''t have much to say haha. It was pretty funny when you made your opinion because those were the reasons I chose those particular stones in the first place. Thanks for the video as is was very entertaining and helped me get a visual. Is it possible give you a call and discuss any further options?

Thanks

Jerry

LOL... actually I had a lot to say. I had shot a little prelude with commentary but I wasn't using my mic so there was a little too much background noise as it is very busy in our store and the noise from the steam machine was really annoying so I left that out.

I already sent you an email so we can discuss further there.

Peace,

Peace,

Sorry, I didin''t meant that you didn''t have anything to say. I meant to say that since the diamonds were all similar in quality there wasn''t much to point out other than the first two. My bad.

I haven''t shown my wife yet so I''ll inquire further afterwards. Thanks for the video and the laugh haha

No prob. It''s a pleasure to serve.
