I cannot settle on a setting and I really want to find one soon...... I seem to like contemporary settings (ie: plain white metal freeform style or shiny) and also vintage milligrain beadset settings with lots of detail. I don't want a thin band because I have that already, too thin for my finger, size 7 almost. Any ideas appreciated!!!!

Hi iluvdiamonds2, I was in NYC and visited 3 vendors. HAve a look at this thread and maybe there is something helpful here:

I was specifically going for a more antique look and couldn't decide between halo, no halo, antique, repro --- I was all over the place! --- but there are 2 in this thread from IDJ that are tapered that may work for you and my finger size is an 8 for this setting. Enjoy the hunt!

So, I know that you've been on a long journey to reset your diamond. However, I don't really agree with your premise. First off, a finger size that is not quite size 7 is absolutely, perfectly average. Totally the normal size for women. It is not huge, not in any respect. Totally average and normal. So I wish you'd kind of let go of the mental process where you're thinking that you need some kind of special setting for your "huge" finger - you have a perfectly normal finger.

Secondly, I do not think that a larger finger needs a larger thickness or width of band. In fact, quite the opposite. The wider and thicker a ring is, the more it tends to compress any spare flesh on your finger. If you have bony fingers, no big deal. If you have fleshy fingers, even if they are totally normal sized, you can get the "compressed" look that makes your fingers look "fat."

I have a colored stone ring that is just about the daintiest, thinnest, tiniest ring imaginable. I love it. Pics in the link below are post-baby, at about a size 8. When I was pregnant, I got in the habit of wearing DH's original wedding band. My thinner band is much more flattering to my finger. I just think you're looking in the wrong direction if you're thinking thicker or wider.

Hello greetings I saw this online and thought you may like it hopefully
