Hi Everyone,

I posted a few days ago regarding a diamond I was interested in purchasing online, however, the feedback I got was that an EGL certifed diamond is not reliable.... Sooooooo, I was wondering if anyone could suggest some links to good quality diamonds online??

I was hoping for something at least 1.20ct or bigger, round brilliant cut, G or H (I'd even go I or J if it looked white) in colour, tripple excellent and rates well on the HCA. I don't care what clarity the diamond is as long as it is 100% eye clean. I also don't mind a slight blue fluoresence, as long as it does not make the ring look cloudy. I only have a budget $7,000 Australian dollars for the diamond, or $7,500 including the ring itself. Am I asking for too much on this budget and should be setting my sites on a smaller carat size?

If anyone can make any suggestions, I would be in your gratitude,

Thanks in advance :D

Have you tried the PS search engine? I hadn't look at all the diamonds yet but i've found this one which seems ok on paper. You'd need to check if its eye clean even if the specs look good.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply :D I have not checked it out yet but certainly will now.

Thanks again,

Mirna

I would by only from a vendor that can provide you with pictures and idealscope images of the diamonds.

Here are the two I would consider as potentials for you.

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/J-SI1-Excellent-Cut-Round-Diamond-1536011.asp It's got a 2.6 HCA. But since James Allen offers Idealscope images, it's perfectly fine in terms of potential. Ask them to check it to see if it is eyeclean and if the florescence is safe.

Ask them to provide you with an idealscope image of it.

It might be a great purchase for you.

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/I-SI1-Excellent-Cut-Round-Diamond-1535930.asp 1.8 HCA. Ask for idealscope and if it is eyeclean.

Hi Mirna,

Welcome back..I did the HCA check on the B2C diamond which Greenbling had suggested and this looks to be a really nice stone with an HCS score of 0.6 which is Excellent all the way.

Also there is one interesting thing I found out about the diamond mentioned by Gypsy.

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/I-SI1-Excellent-Cut-Round-Diamond-1535930.asp

This diamond is also with b2c check it out

http://www.b2cjewels.com/dd-3349172-1.20-carat-Round-diamond-I-color-SI1-clarity.aspx

They are a fast growing company, if you tell them, you come from pricesopce, you will get some more discount.

Just thought it would save you some more to spend on the setting.

Goodluck :)

Thanks for that, I did check out B2C and they are much cheaper in comparison to the other websites. The thing that attracted me to James Allen is because you can see the actual stone. What I might do is contact B2C and see if they can send me a photo of the stone I am interested it.

I actually found 4 more diamonds on the James Allen wesbite, I wonder if the same ones can also be found on B2C???... hmmmm I might check that out... these are the links I found, feel free to give your feedback on their quality. My preference is for the 1.39ct (mainly for the size) but I notice in the picture theres a blue colour in parts of it yet the certificate doesnt mention anything about fluoresence... So, Im not too sure if its as good as the other 3 which are "true hearts & arrows" cut diamonds??

Hmmm thats strange, I don't know what happened there... Second time lucky :appl:

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/J-SI1-Excellent-Cut-Round-Diamond-1520179.asp

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/J-VVS2-Excellent-Cut-Round-Diamond-1529273.asp

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/I-VS2-Excellent-Cut-Round-Diamond-1538157.asp

I ended up eliminating the 1.39 as it didn't score too well on the HCA, as far as I can tell, the 1.22ct seems to be the better of the four diamonds?

Hey Mirna,

I went through all the diamonds and its strange that a couple of them have the GIA report number missing.

The diamonds are good, but I am not happy with the "J" color and the price quoted for these diamonds as I could find 20 -30 diamonds with better color, clarity and prices with similar or better measurements on B2C.

If I have to spend $6- $7 K on a diamond, I would personally go for a VS1 - SI1(eye clean) and D- I color with 3EX and no fluorescence.

Go through a few more website and compare them, ask for pricesopce discounts (Which I am sure most of them offer) and choose the one that give you value for your money. After all it is a diamond that you are buying so don't rush into it .

Hi Vishke8,

Thanks for all your responses, you are being very helpful.

I agree about B2C they are much cheaper and since posting those links last night, I have found better colour diamonds and have contacted B2C asking for certification and photo's but I am yet to hear back from them. I hope they respond soon as I am keen to make my purchase soon and have the ring made so I can have it before Christmas.

Will let you know how I go with them :wavey:

The only one from those I would eliminate is the J VVS2, too similar to the 1.22 J VS1 but big price difference.

Hey Mirna,

Wise decision, there are many website in the market, as a customer you look for the best on offer.

Go for it, I have heard a lot of positive comments on their products and services.

Hey Mirna,

How are you doing?

Did you try calling them..speak to Ricky, Kenny or Brian, they are easy to work with.

I must say they really know about their diamonds.
