Hi Everyone,

I have a friend who is looking to upgrade to a pear shape diamond, however I know nothing about pears therefore am turning to my dearest PSers!

Her budget is around $4000 and hoping to be around over 1ct. She does not mind if the diamond is a little on the warmer side and she prefers the chunky pears and not the long and skinnys.

She sent me this link...

Is it okay? Any other suggestions?

Thank you in advance for helping my friend find her perfect pear!!

Definitely need images for pears.

Go with one of the vendors that provide ASET images.

Hi Suki

I love pears and take a special interest in them, although it looks ok on paper the info only gives a chalk outline of the stone, plus the girdle variances I would want checking out by a trusted vendor. Images are crucial as pears vary so much, unfortunately BN does not offer them and a Sarin report to get detailed measurements of the stone. Also there is no way to tell how much of a bow tie this stone shows, pears often show a bow tie effect so a vendor with the diamond in hand is so useful in order to describe this to the prospective buyer.

All your friend can do with BN is to order if they want, they do have a good return policy. Or look around to see what some of the other vendors have for in house pears with images and info supplied.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to respond and look up nice pears. I am forwarding her the information as I get it and hopefully she will be able to make a purchase so I can post pictures in SMTR!!

Thanks again for all your help!

A pear is a really hard shape to buy relying only on numbers. I found that out when I was looking for mine. Seeing it in hand is the best way to see if that specific stone is pleasing to your eyes...

I hope you find the stone that makes your heart sing!!! :)
