Ok, so I never wear earrings, which is why I am still searching for the perfect pair of clip-on earrings for June 5th. I like these. I wish they were at least silver tone. Am I making too much of a big deal out of this? I am almost certainly wearing a triple strand of pearls, to which I was considering adding a silvery toned broach, but not entirely sure if it would work or not?

I'll post my intended hair-style next.

P.S. Oh and my shoes are silvery too, which is another reason why I feel conflicted about the gold. It's not a big deal though, right? You can't even see my shoes? And, it's not like I'm going to be having pictures of my rings next to my ears, right?

My hair will (hopefully) look like this, except my hair is dark dark brown and the flowers will be lavender (oh, and without the random bits that look like they were just dropped on the middle of her head) and I don't have any bits of lace like that yet, but whatever, I think the earrings are an appropriate size and shape for this earthy-type-hair-do, no?

My pearls, by way of reference:

hmmmmm...LovesVintage, I think something in a silvery/platinum tone would look better...

Have you considered bypassing the whole issue by doing small glittery earrings? I bought a pair at Macy''s that are small, delicate, and you don''t really see any metal at all...or do you definitely want earrings that hang?

hmmmmm . . . Claudianam, Thanks for the feedback. I guess I''m feeling the same thing, but I''m feeling a little desperate at this point so just want to get something already! Thanks for being honest. No, they don''t necessarily have to hang, but I think my big issue is that they do need to be clip-on! I''m not finding anything on-line that is both clip-on and cheap, but doesn''t look, well, cheap!!

Glitzy little flowers would be perfect, I think, so long as they clip! I just can''t get my ears pierced again . . . well, I could, but I won''t.

I understand about feeling like you need to get something already (long story, but I am kind of feeling that way with my shoes, even though I already have a pair).

How about these? They''re at JC Penney for $13.99. It says they''re clip-ons.

Loves,

Have you thought about not wearing earrings at all?

1) you''re not used to them, so it might feel weird.
2) you would be able to totally glam up your necklace and maybe get a bracelet.

Just a thought.

Yes, I had thought about not wearing them at all. I especially don''t want my ears to get red if the clips are too tight, but at the same time, thought I might want to wear something to "complete the look." Maybe I should just skip it.

I do like the earrings posted above. Thank you ladies for posting those for me. I especially like the 1928 site. They have a lot of clip-ons, but for some reason, stores carry very little of their stock. I think I''m going to stick with searching for super-dainty little flowers, and if I can''t find those, then I will just do without.

Thanks for talking me out of the gold earrings . . . .

I like your original earrings but I''m not sure about the gold tone. People mix metals all the time and I think it looks great. Try on your dress, necklace, earrings, and shoes - even if you don''t do the hairstyle - and see how it looks together. Or post photos and we''ll tell you!

Hi Addy!

I wish I could do that; however, those earings are somewhere in the Midwest. I got the pic on eBay.

And, my dress is still in the dress shop.

I was able to try it on last night with my triple strand (the only thing I do have in my possession!), and the pearls were lovely. The dress is not done yet. She''s adding sleeves to it, so she wanted to show four different ways she could do it with the lace, and we made a decision. Now, it *should* be ready on the 20th, and we''re leaving the country on the 28th!

I can''t complain though. The shopowner is just like me. Kind of a procrastinator, but also a perfectionist! Plus, it''s still prom season. AND, she''s doing my alterations and sleeves for FREE!

I''ve been looking at Etsy.com today and think I can find clip-on earrings there that will be perfect.

Loves Vintage, are you used to clips? My great-grandma used to let me wear her clip-on earrings when I was a little girl and I would last about 5 mins in them. Granted, this was also the stage where a training bra was itchy and unbearable, but all I can remember about clips was that they were HORRIBLE.

Better were the ones that had a screw back not a hinge because they wouldn't have the clamping effect, but those still hurt. Honestly, I'd go without. You have a beautiful pearl necklace, and your hair will have so much detail...naked ears I think would look best :)

ETA: And if I remember right from years of buying my ggma earrings for Xmas, the brand Monet makes lovely vintagey, pearly earrings, mostly silver tone, and usually has lots of clips.
