Can I get a respectable 3 ct ER for $25k

Ok, I'm starting to look at diamonds as I'm upgrading and would like a diamond around 3 carats. Why 3 carats, I don't know other than we are going to be celebrating our 30th anniversary shorty.

For the shape of the diamond, I'm torn between a round and cushion. I currently have a round and like it alot, but I also like cushions and think maybe I should get one of those instead. I like both old cuts and more modern cuts. I want a diamond that is eye clean, faces up white and shows alot of sparkle. I'm not settled on any color rating although I don't want to see alot of yellow in it, especially if I do a halo. The setting will be white gold or platinum. I think floro is neat, and it would not deter me from purchasing the diamond unless it caused the diamond to be white and milky. I haven't decided on the exact setting as I like both halos as well as a solitare setting with a few small stones in the band on each side. I really prefer halos but I guess I'm concerned that for everyday wear, a 3 carat with a halo might be a bit much, I don't know.

Is my budget realistic for this purchase? Any thoughts on going round over cushion? Any suggestions for diamonds.....I'm a bit overwhelmed searching all the different vendors and since I don't have my heart set on one type of shape, I'm really driving myself crazy.

Budget is not reasonable unless you are willing to consider warm colored diamonds. Old cuts would be a good fit too.

For a stone to go in a halo we normally recommend I or higher color. So for you that means a cushion. They cost less per carat.

Oh and that budget better not include a halo. A custom halo for a 3 carat stone is going to run you 5k.

Insure your stones. Don't bank on a vendors "warranty " or "guarantee"

Unless you will upgrade the life guarantees don't get you much.
ETA: your purchase is protected if you pay by paypal. Make sure terms are agreeable and description matches what you want. And make sure certificate is included in the purchase.

The pre-owned is a J color, and since I would like a halo, that may not be a good option. I think I"m going to need to increase the budget to get what I want I don't see ever trading up again, so I want to get this right this time, and if I have to kick in some more money to do so, that's Ok.
