Can I get a nice OEC for $4,000?

Looking for a nice size OEC <3 , with a budget in the $4,000.00 range. Is that even possible or should I just keep saving to get a nice size stone? I've been searching for a few months now and just can't seem to find the "needle in the haystack"!

I think you can. I would call Adam @oldworlddiamonds and tell him what you want and see what he can find for you. If anyone can find an old cut diamond treasure on budget he can. Good luck and cannot wait to see what you find.
 
Also try Alex Park, Parks Fine Group. The other place you could try is EBay or local antique/pawn shops.
 
Post "WTB" in pre-loved too. Someone may be thinking about selling.

What is nice sized to you? What color are you okay with? Is there a certain faceting pattern you prefer?
If you answer a few of those, I know there are a lot of people on here who are very talented at finding "needles" ;)2

The stone was a little over $4k. The setting was additional.

I think so! I just got an appraised 1.18 ct M vvs2 with the most gorgeous faceting for a little over 2k. I’m having it removed from the setting so it might even weight more. It’s not Gia certed though So that’s why it’s probably a little less.

I would pass on that one. Disorganized faceting and not pleasing to the eye and it does look like it has a fish eye.
You can do much much better.

This is a terrible diamond with a fish eye (too shallow = girdle reflection).

And yes you can get a nice diamond for under 4k. I have found some in my searching for side stones -- little hidden gems that are not listed as OECs on ebay. Are you willing to buy on ebay? Maybe I can send you some links.
 
I personally don't like the stone above. I think you can find better.

What are you looking for size wise, color, etc.? I do recommend Adam at OWD as well.

eBay! @Niel found it for me. It’s not the greatest picture but that’s the ring! My phone case was pink so it picked up the color from it. My sister loves the setting and can’t afford the diamond so I’m removing the diamond and giving her the setting (she’s putting a moissy in it).

I actually have a ring with a 1.03 G OEC in it for sale for exactly that right now, so I'd say definitely yes :)
 
Well- I think you can, for sure. I'm thinking to post my OEC very soon in preloved.
