:wavey: I just finished the couch to 5k program last week. I’m running 35 minutes now which is great considering I could barely run a minute at the start. My pace is slow (13 min mile) so I’m not quite at 5k distance. I’m at 2.65 miles as of yesterday. I signed up for a 5k on Thanksgiving bc I’m confident I’ll be ready to run a 5k then and it gives me something to work toward.

There’s a neighborhood 5k this Saturday and my neighbor’s husband has to drop out because he has strep. She asked me to run with her instead. Can I feasibly run the whole thing? It’ll obviously take me longer than the 35 minutes I’ve been running so I’m not confident I can do it. I only want to do it if I feel like it’s feasible that I can run the entire length.

Any tips? Is it reasonable to think if I can comfortably run 35 minutes that I can run the 42ish minutes it would take me to finish? It’s really important to me that I run my first 5k with no walking.

Maybe I’m just overthinking this...as I do most things.

I am SO impressed! I started that and made it an entire week. Yes you can definitely do it! Especially having other people around to keep you going!

Of course you can! I could never get to the 5K in training, I just couldn't push myself that last quarter mile. But on the day I did it, and so will you.

Don't beat yourself up if you find you have to slow down at all, you'll make it to the finish line. Go girl!!!:appl:

You can do it!! You've got this!!!

No tips, I just wanted to congratulate you on all of your hard work!

You guys are the best! I think I’m gonna do it! I’m terrified but that’s ok! :lol-2:

Yes, you can do it!

You can do it!!! I also just started running. My first day was Sept. 18th. When I first started I could barely run one minute, I did intervals where I would run one minute/walk four minutes and so on and so forth.
I’m currently supposed to be on week 5- 4 minute run/ 2 min walk, but I have tested myself out and I can actually do more when I put my mind to it.
Today I did 52 minutes (on the treadmill) without stopping. My pace is slow, but who cares? You’re doing it, not sitting on a couch!
You can do it!!! I’ll be rooting for you!

I think you got this :appl:

Even if you're a little slow, its not the end of the world. Go at the pace that makes sense for you.

I tend to find answers to life's questions when I have to be active and my brain isn't terribly engaged.:lol: Well, usually just work stuff thats giving me hell.

can you listen to music while you do this? if so, do it!

You can do it, girl! Especially with all the crowds cheering and the other people running. The time will pass by so quickly. Go at your own pace and it's easy to go "faster" than planned in the beginning with all the adrenaline and excitement. Excited for you and have fun!

Thanks for all the encouragement! I’ll let you guys know how it goes. I’m using my neighbor’s bib number so my time won’t be on my permanent record anyway.

Yesssss you can do this!! Just do it! Nothing bad is going to happen, worst case, you use a bit more time than you like! After all, you can always walk the last meters ;-) Hugs and good luck!

Fantastic Puppmom! :clap::dance: Congratulations!
