Can fixing prongs hurt the diamond?

I finally got my ring and now I’m deciding if I want to fix it. The head is a little off and the prongs don’t look as if they were put right. I want to take it in but I’m really afraid they’ll damage the diamond somehow and if that’s the case then I rather just live with it. It’s a peg head BTW
